A multifaceted gem in a sparkling sapphire setting, Clear Creek Tahoe is about to shine as the premier private residential club on the eastern shoreline of Lake Tahoe, which balances on the border of California and Nevada. Ensconced in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and fronted by the largest high-altitude body of water in the United States, the exclusive community plans to build around its already exquisite emerald centerpiece, a Coore & Crenshaw–designed golf course.

Beginning in November, the first phase of development delivers 121 estate lots (from 1.5 acres to almost 5 acres) discreetly dispersed throughout 1,576 acres of varied terrain—all amidst the greatest expanse of national forest outside of Alaska. Following phases call for an additional 147 estate lots and 98 cottages (from two- to four-bedroom) to be offered as early as next year.

Already in play, however, is the 18-hole course (created by Bill Coore and golf great Ben Crenshaw) and its invite-only private golf club. The pristinely maintained links will be complemented by a new clubhouse complex to be completed by 2019. Amenities will include a restaurant showcasing Executive Chef Adrianna Hyman’s internationally inspired menu focused on locally sourced ingredients; a dedicated wine enclave; a family center with a pool and a flume waterslide; and three tennis courts (two Har-Tru surfaced and one grass). In addition, a spa sanctuary and 8,500-square-foot fitness facility is expected to be open by the 2017 season.
