The Evo 43 is a fast day cruiser with lines that are muscular yet sleek and minimalist. The straight bow and high topsides flow towards the stern in what is form & function at its very best. However, as handsome as this cruiser looks, what makes it especially cool is the fact that it can shapeshift to increase usable space and has a ladder that transforms for varied uses. It kind of reminds us of the BMW GINA.
At the touch of a button (or from your iPhone), the beach area can be completely transformed: the hydraulically operated bulwark “XTensions” slide out and, in less than thirty seconds, increasing the usable space by 40% to create a 25 square metre pieds dans l’eau terrace that can be used as a lounge, sitting room, sun deck with built-in deck chairs, or diving platform. The aft section houses an optional “Transformer”: a large pneumatically operated extending platform built into the sundeck. The Transformer can be rotated by almost 270 degrees. It can be used to support boarding or disembarking the boat at the dock, as a ladder for stepping back on board after a pleasant swim, or even as a diving platform with adjustable height.
The design of the Evo 43 is sleek and minimalist with cleats, anchor, fenderhooks which fold away in the deck to leave the lines completely clean. The hydraulically operated anchor locker features a lifting nose which prevents the anchor from being accidentally wound in or out.
The finish of the curved teak panel helm station is at the owner’s discretion and houses the wheel, the control panel, the navigation electronics and all the monitoring systems. The all teak cockpit features an area that can be easily configured thanks to modular cube-shaped seats and also houses an extending dining table and large wet bar. The door on a separate unit hides an induction hob with four rings and a sink.
An illuminated Plexiglass companionway with large steps leads to a large V-shaped dinette with a table that folds away to make space for a comfortable double bed. The sense of pure luxury is nicely rounded off by an optional 46″ LCD 3D TV.
There are three engine systems available: Volvo Penta IPS 600 (total of 870 HP), Volvo Penta IPS 500 (total of 740 HP) or Cummins 550 straight shaft (total of 1100 HP). The hull has a deadrise angle of 18° which ensures that the Evo 43 is highly fuel efficient with a maximum speed of 38 knots, a cruising speed of 30 knots and a range of 300 nautical miles.
