Giorgio Armani is no stranger when it comes to supporting budding creative talents. The Italian fashion house created the initiative to support these likely protégé, and is now in its thirteenth season. As its next highlight at the upcoming Milan Men's Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani will be introducing the Miaoran fashion show at the Armani Theatre.
The young Chinese fashion designer, who created his eponymous brand last year, completed his training in Milan. Part of Miaoran’s prevailing qualities can be apparent in his multi-faceted style and interdisciplinary approach, which sees him moving seamlessly between designing, painting and teaching.
“I am grateful to Giorgio Armani for his support and for giving me the opportunity to present my collection at his Armani/Teatro”, said Miaoran. “It's a great honour for a young designer who comes from afar and who has chosen Milan as the place to live and work.”
The young designer is known for putting out a gender fluid collection, including pieces that tend towards oversized proportions and conflicting materials, effortlessly moving between femininity and masculinity.
"Discovering new international talents is always interesting and inspiring, because it allows me to explore different ideas and creative styles. The designer I have chosen for this edition is Miaoran and I wish him a long, rewarding career”, said Giorgio Armani.
