very day of every month at GQ, we start your morning on Instagram with visual advice on What to Wear Today. But we want to go deeper. Give you the nuts and bolts of how to get the look into your wardrobe. Today we're walking you through the right way to wear tweed, even as winter's quickly fading away.
In the world of fashion there are many things that look really cool, but aren't exactly practical. Take this amazing photo of our man Matthew McConaughey laying out in the desert in head-to-toe tweed (not to mention the wool sweater it's paired with), super stylish, probably not super comfortable. While this photo is great inspiration for what to wear today, the real life version needs a few tweaks. Herringbone tweed is a classic suit fabric that can be worn à la professor Indiana Jones, just as well as it can be worn to the office over jeans. But one thing it is not, is a warm weather fabric. That's why we're suggesting you swap your Sherlock Holmes blazer for one of the same pattern, but in a lighter more breathable material. Your sweat glands will thank you.
