English fashion designer Stella McCartney, OBE, is reportedly introducing a men’s line to her namesake brand for Spring the following year. It will be McCartney’s first exclusive menswear collection for her brand, though these are not unchartered waters - in her earlier days, the daughter of famous Beatle Paul McCartney started as an intern for Christian Lacroix, assisting him on his first ever haute couture collection.
She also famously worked under her father’s Savile Row tailor, Edward Sexton, for years before she joined Chloe in 1997 as creative director. Four years later, her eponymous women’s fashion house was born, which have been leading the fashion world with several accolades under her belt since, including a feature in Time 100 and being Glamour magazine’s Woman of the Year.
The designer’s famous collaborations include Adidas by Stella McCartney, a collection of vivid vibes in an array of pop art, color block inspired pieces, peppered with the occasional quirky prints and marbled, color whirls.
McCartney herself seems to favor a distinctly androgynous style, and is often seen decked out in a trouser-suit combo. The designer certainly seems to be headed towards an all-inclusive fashion house, seeing that she also recently debuted a children's wear collection in 2010.
