The winter installment of dineLA Restaurant Week kicks off next week (January 18-31). This time around, a select number of LA restaurants are crafting special high-end menus for the occasion as part of The Exclusive Series. Here’s five menus you should definitely add to your must-try list.
Hinoki & the Bird
At Hinoki & the Bird, the dineLA menu begins with local albacore served with winter citrus and thin slices of avocado, before moving on to fennel pozole, Santa Barbara uni, and smoked short ribs plated alongside caramelized sunchokes. The decadent meal ends with a rich uanja chocolate zenbu for dessert.
The Bazaar By José Andrés
The Bazaar By Jose Andres kicks off its special dineLA meal in style with a welcome glass of Cava before guests dig into delicious courses. Look forward to a shrimp cocktail, market fish ceviche with avocado roll, grilled Spanish octopus, Brussels sprouts, and a juicy Philly cheesesteak. Dessert includes bonbons and an irresistible sweet treat dubbed as the “chocolate cake of your dreams.”
The Arthur J
This retro-inspired restaurant crafted a dineLA feast for this occasion sure to satisfy the cravings of any surf and turf lover. The first course kicks off with options like chilled jumbo shrimp cocktail and beef sirloin tartare. The second course is all about seafood—think Alaskan king crab, lobster bisque, and pan seared scallops. Next up is the hearty meat-focused third course, which includes choices like an Angus ribeye or a heritage pork porterhouse. Dessert doesn’t disappoint either with pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate praline bars on deck.
If you’re in the mood for Italian cuisine, head to Valentino during dineLA. The restaurant’s meal starts off with antipasti options like citrus-marinated Italian-style sashimi and grilled octopus. Diners can then dig into pasta favorites like egg-filled ravioli and fagottini alla carbonara. Adventurous food-lovers will enjoy the pan roasted Napa quail that arrives next. For the main event, save room for the dover sole filet or venison with chestnut sauce.
Spago will impress dineLA diners with a beginning course of white sturgeon caviar followed by smoked salmon terrine served with California-grown cruciferous vegetables. Then comes the handmade agnolotti with black truffles, slow roasted liberty duck breast, and New York steak courses. Toast to the great meal by indulging in a dark chocolate crème caramel dessert.
