Maserati has confirmed that its first ever SUV, the Levante will debut in 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show.
Maserati wanted to stick with its original Italian roots and decided to name the new, stylish SUV Levante which means east in Italian. In 1914 where it all began, the Maserati brothers moved their company to Via Emilia Levante in Bologna, Italy, and the rest is history.
The Maserati Levante will use the same platform as the Quattroporte luxury sedan. Once the Levante is unveiled, it will rival the BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Sport.
We can expect to see the Maserati Levante make its debut as early as January 2016 with hopes of gaining a wider audience and increasing its overall sales.
